The Pink Ribbon Foundation is delighted to congratulate sisters Daniela Roux and Laura Schiavo on completing the London Marathon as part of the charity's first-ever official London Marathon team.
Taking on their very first marathon was an incredible achievement in itself, but doing so in memory of their beloved mum, whom they lost to secondary breast cancer last year, made the occasion even more meaningful.
Daniela has been part of the Pink Ribbon Foundation family for several years, having participated in the first UK BOLD exhibition in London in 2023 following her own breast cancer diagnosis. Since then, it has been a privilege to share so many special moments with her and to watch both sisters take on this remarkable challenge together.
After months of training and preparation, Daniela and Laura crossed the finish line side by side, holding hands and recording exactly the same finishing time – a truly touching moment and a fitting tribute to their mum.
Together, they have already raised almost £10,000 for the Pink Ribbon Foundation, more than doubling their original fundraising target. Their determination, resilience and commitment will help support charities and projects across the UK that provide vital services to those affected by breast cancer.
Everyone at the Pink Ribbon Foundation is incredibly proud of Daniela and Laura and grateful for everything they have achieved in support of the charity.
(The Foundation would also like to thank Akin Okusami for kindly personalising the Team Pink Ribbon running vests and t-shirts worn by the charity's marathon runners).
