  • Charity Table Setting Competition, 2016

This year the Pink Ribbon Foundation was very proud to partner with the Professional Yachting Association (PYA) via their annual ‘Table Setting’ competition at the Monaco Yacht Show, which has resulted in an amazing donation of €4,357.00 to fight breast cancer.

Yachts in the Monaco Yacht Show or at anchor outside the show were able to participate for a chance to wow a panel of exclusive yachting industry judges with an elaborate table display showcasing their interior crew and galley’s unique creativity, style and flair.  In accordance with the charity, the theme for this year’s competition was PINK with pink cocktails and canapés and references to the pink ribbon which were abundant in the displays.

A huge thank you to all crew who participated and put in such a tremendous effort to create some really stunning table settings, canapés and cocktails.  It was a very close fought competition.  Some categories were particularly difficult to decide upon, since every team brought so much to the competition. Thank you to Gourmet Deliveries and Home and Yacht Linens and Interiors for their support and generosity with the amazing prizes

  • British and Australian consulates support in China with a Pink Ribbon Day

British and Australian consulates support in China with a Pink Ribbon Day

The Community Liaison Officers “CLO’s” from the British (Novie Cawley) and Australian consulates (Stella Polly) in Guangzhou, China got together with an expat female community to support a Pink Ribbon Day. As many of them have been affected either directly or indirectly through family or friends with cancer, it was a cause very close to people’s hearts. There was a special presentation from a senior Doctor (Dr Kate Gaynor) who presented facts on how women of certain ages and cultures should get regular checks, which was vital and very informative for the group, who are now able to share this new knowledge with other women. The funds raised during the day were split between the two consulates and the Pink Ribbon Foundation benefited in the UK.  We would like to thank everyone for their very kind support and for raising much needed awareness.

  • Marina Ranger and Lujca Leonard run #500Kin5days in Runderwear

    Marina Ranger and Lujca Leonard

Imagine running over two marathons per day continuously for five days.  Marina and Lucja did just that and ran 500Km in just five days in only their pink running underwear across the length of the Netherlands in July to raise money and awareness for the Pink Ribbon Foundation!  The two friends met doing their first multi stage ultra marathon in the Kalahari desert and then went on to travel around the world together taking part in ultra marathons. Having done plenty of races together, they decided it was about time they organised their own challenge. Marina planted the seed in Lucja’s mind of organising a challenge and she came up with the idea to run across the Netherlands in just pink Runderwear. The plan was to follow the Pieterpad Trail which runs from the north to the south of the country covering 500km. We are amazed by their achievement and truly grateful that they decided to take us on their journey with them.  To date they have raised over £7,600 to support our vital work and it’s not too late to support them. To read more about their incredible journey please go to: https://running-ranger.squarespace.com/blog-posts/2016/8/14/an-emotional-rollercoaster-running-the-length-of-the-Netherlands

  • GTFA

    GTFA

GTFA was formed in the 15/16 season and is mainly young players coached by George Timotheou (GT) in their youth. George is a UEFA licensed coach with over 10 years experience in youth football. He has worked in professional football as well as many National and International projects. Highlights include reaching the final stages of the Gothia Cup and meeting David Beckham during an Olympic 2012 project.  With lots of energy and technical ability, the team had little experience… in senior football. GTFA has attracted some new players which has given them a balance of youth and experience. Their playing style and philosophy is to play quickly in possession, together in defence, with honesty and respect. GTFA has won promotion and the 50 year anniversary cup in their first season. Recently, a few friends and family were diagnosed with breast cancer and to support these ladies and others like them, GTFA decided to select the colour pink as their playing kit for the season. They launched their fundraising campaign in the cup final programme and plan to raise money for the Pink Ribbon Foundation throughout the 16/17 season.

  • Bodywise Beauty Salon

    Bodywise Beauty Salon

We would like to thank everyone at #BodywiseBeautySalon in Bolton for their very generous donation to the Pink Ribbon Foundation.  To mark their 20th year of business Bodywise decided to create a big charity project and so ‘Bodywise Bares All’ was born! They wanted to raise awareness of breast cancer and how it has effected so many people, especially as they all had personal encounters through family and friends. They decided on a charity calendar with the proceeds being split equally between #BootOutBreastCancer and the Pink Ribbon Foundation to help the cause and give something back. In total they raised £3,728.13 to fight breast cancer.  The Pink Ribbon Foundation and Bodywise would like to thank everyone who sponsored, donated, bought the calendar and had a part in the making of it.

  • Corinne and Naomi Smith

    Corinne and Naomi Smith

A massive thank you to sisters Corinne and Naomi Smith who organised an Oscars inspired fundraiser for the Pink Ribbon Foundation in memory of their sister, Carrie who sadly died of breast cancer aged just 32 years.

The party was heavily supported by friends and family and Corinne (a professional singer) and her step mother, Caroline, were among those providing the entertainment. Local businesses also got behind the event and donated prizes for a raffle and Glasgow Rangers football club donated a signed shirt for the auction.  We thank them for their generous support and think that they all looked like Oscar winners!

    Corinne and Naomi Smith

A massive thank you to Francesca, Bev and Julie for organising a local coffee morning in aid of the Pink Ribbon Foundation. Lots of very generous people donated cakes and rather than charging people per drink/cake, guests were invited to instead make a donation to the Foundation to support our vital work. There was also a raffle, games and various other stalls – and a total of £400 was raised on the day to fight breast cancer!  Well done ladies and thank you for your valuable support.  (Thanks also to Elmswell Fire Station for allowing these lovely ladies to use their space to host their event!)
