YOUR FUNDRAISING STORIES
itsu are proud supporters of the Pink Ribbon Foundation and have been for years!
2017 was the year of giving back for itsu and they put their hearts and souls into it! The teams took to the skies for a skydive, they cycled from London to Paris, they took part in numerous runs [including Tough Mudder and the SuperHero run] and they even climbed to the top of Ben Nevis!!
The less adventurous amongst them took part in Pink Fridays where they devoted the day to raising money, both in branches of itsu all over the UK and in their London academy, which included the great itsu bake-off and their very own FIFA tournament!
Last but by no means least, the marketing and product team designed a beautiful bento of the month for October – Pink Power! This box was available to buy in all itsu shops for the whole of October, with 50p from each box donated to the Pink Ribbon Foundation!
The final amount raised during 2017 was a massive £41, 412.48 and we would like to thank all of the itsu customers and staff who contributed to this wonderful amount to support our vital work. We look forward to more FUNdraising with them in 2018.Continue reading →
Long Crendon Cycling Club
Several fathers from Long Crendon village, near Oxford, set up a cycling club last year to get fit and raise for charity. In May 2017 they undertook to ride 300 miles from their village to Paris, averaging 100 miles a day in the saddle, to raise money for two amazing causes close to their hearts: Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and the St David’s Hospice Care who support people with life threatening illnesses and their families. The team raised a staggering £28,500 and this has encouraged them on to take on another exciting challenge in 2018.
This May the team, which has grown in numbers, will ride from Paris to Bordeaux, starting in Paris on the 2nd May and aiming to be in Bordeaux by the 5th May, some 400 miles in just 4 days! Once again the group will self fund the trip, meaning that every penny raised via their fundraising page, will benefit this years chosen charities. The team will once again be supporting GOSH and St David’s Hospice but have also decided to donate to the Pink Ribbon Foundation as two members of the team and their immediate families have been touched by cancer since they rode to Paris last year.
To read the full story behind the challenge and to make a donation to this amazing team, please go to:

We look forward to keeping you up to date with the teams training and progress in France.

Our very own Lisa Allen is taking on a skydive to support those living with breast cancer
Anyone that knows Lisa, knows that she likes her feet firmly on terra firma, quite simply she does not have a head for heights. Indeed, even really tall rollercoasters bring about blind panic and fear, which makes it even more amazing that she wants to take on a 10,00+ft skydive for charity! As Head of Partnerships, PR and Events at the Pink Ribbon Foundation, it is Lisa who helps may brave individuals organise their very own jump to support our vital work. Having heard all their stories over the years with everyone raving about this life changing experience, Lisa has decided that it’s time to see what all the fuss is, but only because she can also raise some serious cash to fight cancer too! Plus there’s the bonus of being strapped to a handsome (probably much younger) man – wants not to love!?! Already Lisa is amazed at the support shown via her fundraising page (which can be found here: www.justgiving.com/LisaAllenPRF) with many corporate companies already making large donations, such as Hastings Direct (insurePink) and Zenith Hygiene. Coupled with support from very generous individuals, Lisa has set an ambitious fundraising target of £3,000 although has said that she would love to hit £5,000! We wish her lots of luck and will share her progress and photos / video from the day.
If you want to take on a skydive for the Pink Ribbon Foundation, please send an email to Lisa and she can help you organise it: firstname.lastname@example.org
You can jump at any time of the year and there are airfields all over the UK. What’s more if you raise £400 your jump is free!Continue reading →
North Staffs Battalion Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association
A massive thank you to the North Staffs Battalion Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association for their wonderful donation of £200!
The North Staff Battalion B.B./GA have a camp each year in August when young people from around the area spend a week together along with their officers having fun, getting to know each other and learning more about Christianity.
As is custom, they decide on a charity to raise money for during the course of the week and in 2017 they decided to support a breast cancer charity since the daughter of one of their ex-officers was found to be suffering from the disease and needed a mastectomy.
The camp at Kirkham near Blackpool was attended by 20 young people aged between 11yrs and 18yrs and 20 officers (18yrs + ) and the money was raised mainly through a very popular tuck shop, where people bought their sweets, drinks and chocolate and were gently encouraged to put their change (or some of it) into the collecting tin. Many of the youngsters put their own donations in too.
The result was a very generous £200 donation to the Pink Ribbon Foundation which will be put to good use and help others suffering from the disease.Continue reading →

Best friend organises disco to support friend through cancer treatment
On the 27 October 2017 Sophie organised an 80’s and 90’s disco to raise money for the Pink Ribbon Foundation. Her best friend Jo was diagnosed with breast cancer on the 11 May at the young age of 37 years and with two young children, both under the age of 5 years, Sophie wanted to organise a fun evening for her friend and raise money for a cause which was so relevant to the friends and family affected by Jo’s diagnosis. Living at Ashbourne Golf Club, with her husband who is the food and beverage manager, it seemed the obvious venue to Sophie for the fundraising event. Over 180 guests brought tickets to attend and were treated to a disco, food and drink and an amazing raffle which was heavily supported by local businesses and over £2,800 was raised on the night for the Pink Ribbon Foundation! Jo chose the playlist and dressed up as a Ghostbuster and the evening gave her a real boost and the strength to continue with her treatment and fight the disease. We thank everyone who attended the party and supported the raffle and we wish Jo all the best for the future.Continue reading →
King Cole does Bake Off
On Friday 20 October the staff at King Cole Limited held a PINK fun day to raise even more money for their charity partner the Pink Ribbon Foundation. Mike the Director of the company did a fantastic job of judging all the cake entries with comments like: “avoid this one if you have dodgy teeth”, “remarkably gooey” and “nice crispy base here, no soggy bottom, I’m definitely coming back to that one”! He even had a go at making a cake himself and the whole team were very proud of his efforts, even though he referred to it as a monstrosity!!
Along with donations for wearing pink and a raffle to win some chocolates, they managed to raise an amazing £154.64 which Mike has generously doubled on behalf of the company, making a grand total of £309.28! This is in addition to the money that they raise as a corporate partner by marketing and selling their knitting patterns using the charity name and logos and making a donation per pattern sold throughout the year. We thank the whole team for their amazing support and their continued fight against breast cancer.Continue reading →
