About Us. Who We Are.
Each year 47,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. That is more than five women every hour and sadly the disease claims the lives of around 12,000 women each year. The number of women being diagnosed with breast cancer is rising but the good news is that with your help, more women are surviving the disease than ever before.
The Pink Ribbon Foundation Charity Number 1080839 is a grant making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, or who have been affected by breast cancer or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer, its early detection and treatment. There are a large number of such charities in the UK, each as deserving as the next. Many of the charities supported are the smaller ones, which operate on a shoestring.
The Pink Ribbon Foundation has very little infrastructure. It relies on the hard work freely given by Trustees (who don’t even claim expenses), interested parties and its Patrons. This is done in order to maximise the amount, which goes to the charities that benefit from the funds raised.
Almost two-thirds of women diagnosed with breast cancer today now survive their disease beyond 20 years and you help contributes to this incredible progress.
